Homemade Chocolate Coconut Bars

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fine shredded coconut
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 large can sweetened condensed milk
  • 500 grams chocolate

Preparation

  1. Prepare a wide tray with a metal rack or parchment paper.

  2. In a deep bowl, mix the coconut, salt, starch, and milk until a dough forms.

  3. Shape the dough into uniform rectangular pieces and place them on the rack to dry for a few minutes.

  4. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a hot water bath, stirring until smooth.

  5. Dip each coconut piece into the melted chocolate, coat completely, remove excess by shaking gently with a fork, and place back on the rack.

  6. Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.
