Homemade Bounty Chocolate Bars
Ingredients
- 4 cups finely shredded coconut
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 large can sweetened condensed milk
- 500 grams chocolate
Preparation
Prepare a large tray and place a metal rack or a piece of parchment paper on it.
In a deep bowl, place the coconut, salt, starch, and milk. Using a wide plastic spoon, mix until the coconut combines with the milk to form the Bounty dough.
Take amounts of the Bounty dough as preferred and shape into uniform rectangles. Place on the metal rack. Continue shaping the remaining dough into equal-sized pieces. Place on the rack and let sit for several minutes to dry and firm up.
In a deep bowl, place the chocolate. Set the bowl over a hot water bath on low heat. Using a wide plastic spoon, stir until melted.
Dip a piece of Bounty in the melted chocolate. Using a fork, turn until fully coated. Lift with the fork and gently shake to remove excess chocolate. Place on the rack. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
Let the chocolate set completely, then serve.
