- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar

Preparation
In a saucepan, place sugar, water, and lemon juice. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes until thick. Add honey and stir to mix. Place the syrup in the fridge to cool.
In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, yeast, salt, sugar, milk, and vinegar. Mix with a hand whisk for 5 minutes until well combined.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
Heat oil in a deep, wide skillet. The oil should be hot, then reduce heat after adding the loukoumades.
Place a small plate with oil beside you.
Place the cold syrup beside you.
Put the dough into a piping bag and cut the tip to about 1 cm.
Dip your fingertips in oil, then squeeze the bag to drop small amounts of dough into the oil, and repeat until the pan is full.
Fry the loukoumades until they are dark golden brown. They can be fried twice if desired.
Remove from oil and place in syrup for a few seconds, stir to absorb, then drain and serve.
