Traditional Brazilian Condensed Milk Flan

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs

Caramel

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

  1. Blend the eggs well in a blender

  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk, and blend until smooth

  3. Melt the sugar in a saucepan until golden brown, then add the water and cook until slightly thickened

  4. Pour the caramel into a round mold, then pour the pudding mixture over the caramel

  5. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 45 minutes with the round baking dish placed inside a larger dish filled with hot water

  6. Insert a fork to check if it is fully baked

  7. Let cool completely, then invert onto a serving plate
