Traditional Brazilian Condensed Milk Pudding

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can milk (same size as condensed milk can)
  • 3 whole eggs

Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

  1. Beat the eggs well in a blender

  2. Add the condensed milk and milk, then blend again

  3. Melt the sugar in a saucepan until caramelized, then add the water and let it thicken

  4. Pour the caramel mixture into a round mold, then pour the pudding mixture over it

  5. Place the mold in a larger baking dish filled with water, then bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes

  6. Insert a fork to check for doneness

  7. Let it cool completely, then unmold
