Manlama Turkish Meat Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 sheets phyllo dough
  • 750 grams ground meat
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • Half bunch parsley

Preparation

  1. Sauté the onion in butter until soft.

  2. Add the ground meat and cook until browned.

  3. Stir in the tomato paste, salt, pepper, and mixed spices; cook for a few minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and mix in the chopped parsley.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  6. Brush a baking dish with butter.

  7. Layer the phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter, and add the meat filling between layers.

  8. Bake until golden brown, about 30-40 minutes.
