Meat Nest with Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 packet rolled vermicelli

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 200 grams ground meat
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large peeled and chopped tomato
  • 1 medium chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Preparation

  1. Get a medium-sized round baking dish.

  2. In a deep pot, place a generous amount of water, add one tablespoon of salt and one tablespoon of corn oil, and place the pot on medium heat to boil the water vigorously.

  3. Place the rolled vermicelli piece on a slotted spoon and gently put it into the boiling water, wait for several minutes until the vermicelli softens, then gently remove it from the water and place it in the baking dish, and do not stir the vermicelli pieces during boiling to maintain their shape and nesting.

  4. For the filling: in a medium-sized pot, place the oil, put the pot on medium heat, add the meat and stir until it becomes dark brown and dry, add the onion, mixed spices, salt, black pepper, tomato, and green bell pepper, stir the meat with the vegetables for 2 minutes, add the water, and let the meat cook for 7 minutes.

  5. Using a large spoon, distribute the filling into the vermicelli nests, sprinkle the cheese over the filling, and cover the dish with aluminum foil.

  6. Set the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  7. Place the meat nest with cheese dish in the oven for 20 minutes.
