Mother-In-Law's Favorite Pelmeni

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 kg flour
  • 400 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Filling

  • meat
  • onion
  • greens (cilantro and parsley)
  • spices (salt, paprika, black pepper)

For boiling

  • bay leaf
  • black peppercorns
  • salt

Preparation

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl, add the egg, salt, water, and knead a stiff dough, then let it rest for about an hour.

  2. Add spices, onion, and greens to the meat filling and mix well.

  3. Divide the rested dough into parts, form into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for half an hour, then roll out into a sheet, dust the pelmeni maker with flour, cover with dough, add filling to each cell, cover with a second sheet, and roll with a rolling pin.

  4. Boil the pelmeni in boiling water with added salt, bay leaf, and peppercorns, and after they float, boil for another three minutes until ready.
