Wheat and Pistachio Cookies

Ingredients

  • 150 gm Butter (Salted)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (churned and sieved)
  • 7-8 Cardamom Powder (alternatively 1 tsp Vanilla Essence can be used)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped California Pistachios
  • 1.5 cup Wheat Flour (Gehu ka atta)

Preparation

  1. Take a mixing bowl.

  2. Add 150 gm salted butter.

  3. Add a pinch of salt.

  4. Beat well with the help of an electric beater.

  5. Add 1 cup powdered sugar.

  6. Add 7-8 cardamom powder.

  7. Again whisk well and bring it to a creamy consistency.

  8. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped California pistachios.

  9. Add 1.5 cup wheat flour.

  10. Gently mix it with the help of a spatula.

  11. Take this mixture on a kitchen platform.

  12. Bring it together with hands to form a dough.

  13. Flatten the dough with the help of a rolling pin to the thickness of an aloo paratha.

  14. Cut it with a cookie or round cutter.

  15. Place the cookies in a baking tray along with parchment paper.

  16. For baking, keep the steamer along with a stand.

  17. Preheat the steamer for 15 minutes.

  18. Place the baking tray in the steamer.

  19. Cover the lid with a cloth and bake on medium heat for 25 minutes.

  20. Let the cookies cool down.

  21. Alternatively, bake in an oven at 160 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.

  22. Serve the delicious wheat pista cookies.

Tips

  1. These cookies can be stored for 1-2 weeks easily.
