Homemade Vegan Spelt Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 700g spelt flour
  • 7g sachet dried yeast
  • 2 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 325ml lukewarm water

Preparation

  1. Prepare crust by adding spelt flour to a large bowl.

  2. In a small jug, mix yeast, sugar, oil and water and allow to sit for a minute.

  3. Add to the flour and knead for 10 minutes until springy.

  4. Set aside, covered with a damp tea towel to rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.

  5. On a floured work surface, roll or stretch out half the pizza dough.

  6. Brush with a little oil to season the top of the dough.

  7. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 20 minutes at 220°C.

  8. Freeze the remaining dough if not using.
