Indonesian Shrimp Paste Sambal
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon roasted shrimp paste
- A handful of bird's eye chilies
- 5 curly chilies
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 shallots
- 1 tomato, seeds removed
- 3 key limes
- Sugar
- A little salt
Preparation
Fry the chilies, garlic, shallots, and tomato until wilted.
Then pound them, adding the roasted shrimp paste, sugar, and a little salt.
Pound until even, squeeze in the key lime juice, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Tips
Serve with fried meatballs and plenty of rice.
