Grilled Mango with Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • Mango (Totapuri or similar, not Alphonso)
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Honey
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • Desiccated coconut powder
  • Mint leaves for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Chop the mango in half vertically and heat up a grill pan and another pan.

  2. Apply honey to the mangoes.

  3. Heat the desiccated coconut in one pan until slightly brown on low heat, watching carefully to avoid burning.

  4. Grill the mangoes on the grill pan.

  5. Immediately sprinkle Kashmiri red chilli powder on the grilled mangoes.

  6. Serve the grilled mango with vanilla ice cream.

  7. Sprinkle the roasted coconut on the ice cream.

  8. Garnish with mint leaves.

Tips

  1. Use Totapuri or a similar mango that can be cut into pieces, as Alphonso is too juicy for this dessert.

  2. Roast the coconut on a slow flame and monitor it closely to prevent it from burning quickly.
