Layered Chocolate Trifle Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup caramel
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 100 grams chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Filling

  • 1 piece pound cake
  • 2 medium cans mixed fruits

Decoration

  • whipped cream
  • cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. For the pudding: In a deep bowl, place the sugar, starch, cocoa, coffee, salt, vanilla, 1 cup of milk and eggs, and mix with a hand whisk until smooth.

  2. Place the remaining milk in a medium-sized thick-bottomed pot and heat on medium heat.

  3. Pour the hot milk over the mixture in the bowl and stir with the whisk until completely mixed.

  4. Return the mixture to the pot and heat on medium heat until it boils and thickens, then add the chocolate and butter, stir until the butter melts, and let it cool.

  5. Using a sharp knife, cut the cake into 4 slices about 1 or 2 inches thick and then into cubes.

  6. Prepare 4 individual serving glasses: place some cake cubes in each glass, spread a little fruit syrup, add 2 tablespoons of pudding, and some fruit mixture, then add the remaining cake pieces, pour a little fruit syrup, add some pudding, then a little fruit, and finally a generous amount of pudding.

  7. Decorate the trifle glasses with whipped cream and cocoa powder.

  8. Place the trifle in the refrigerator for several hours.
