Easy Homemade Fruit Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 1 packet ladyfingers biscuits
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 medium can mixed fruits

Cheese mixture

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup fruit juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine orange zest
  • 450 grams mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup liquid cream
  • 1/4 cup clotted cream

Serving

  • cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. In a wide deep dish, put water, coffee, and sugar. Stir with a spoon until coffee dissolves. Let the coffee mixture cool completely.

  2. For the cheese mixture: In a deep bowl, put egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla. Place the bowl over a pot with hot water on medium heat. Using a hand whisk, stir the mixture until sugar dissolves and it becomes smooth. This step ensures the egg yolks are cooked. Add orange zest and fruit juice.

  3. In a blender bowl, put the cheese, cream, and clotted cream. Attach the whisk attachment. Blend on medium speed for 1 to 2 minutes until creamy. With the blender running on low speed, add the egg yolk mixture to the cheese mixture. Blend on medium speed for 1 minute until creamy.

  4. Prepare a transparent high-sided serving dish.

  5. Place a layer of ladyfingers in the bottom of the dish. Dip more ladyfingers in the coffee and arrange them. Spread some cheese mixture and distribute some mixed fruits. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.

  6. Place the tiramisu in the fridge for several hours or overnight.

  7. Remove the tiramisu from the fridge. Sift cocoa powder over it through a sieve.
