Crispy Cheesy Potato Balls
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes
- 2 egg yolks (use 3 if eggs are small)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Kaşar cheese (or similar cheese)
Coating
- Egg whites (from the eggs above)
- 1 bowl flour
- 1 bowl bread crumbs
Preparation
Boil the potatoes whole with skins on.
Peel and mash the boiled potatoes.
After cooling, add the egg yolks and spices and mix.
Set aside the egg whites, flour, and bread crumbs for coating.
From the mixture, take walnut-sized pieces and roll into balls.
Press each ball slightly, insert a piece of cheese, close and roll again.
Repeat until all mixture is used.
Coat each ball first in flour, shake off excess, then in egg white.
Finally, coat in bread crumbs and arrange.
Heat oil in a pan until hot, add the potato balls and fry, turning until golden.
