Indonesian Urap-Urap Vegetable Salad

Ingredients

  • 250g grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Assorted boiled vegetables to taste (e.g., long beans, bean sprouts, cabbage)

Ground spices

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 red chilies
  • 1/2 inch piece of kencur
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves
  • Bird's eye chilies to taste

Preparation

  1. Mix the ground spices with grated coconut, season with salt and sugar to taste, and steam for about 20 minutes.

  2. Combine the steamed mixture with boiled vegetables and serve.
