Steamed Shrimp with Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- 300g shrimp, deveined
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 large chili, sliced diagonally
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
Sauce
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 piece ginger, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon seafood soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon cooking wine (optional)
- pepper to taste
Preparation
Marinate shrimp with lime juice and salt. Let sit for 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix garlic, ginger, seafood soy sauce, cooking wine, and pepper. Stir well.
Arrange shrimp on a heatproof plate. Pour the sauce mixture over the shrimp.
Steam the shrimp for 8 minutes in a preheated steamer. Remove.
Arrange green onions and chili slices on top of the shrimp.
Heat sesame oil in a small pan. Drizzle over the shrimp.
Serve with warm rice or porridge.
Tips
Do not steam too long to avoid the shrimp becoming tough.
