Steamed Shrimp with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

  • 300g shrimp, deveined
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 large chili, sliced diagonally
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

Sauce

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 piece ginger, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon seafood soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cooking wine (optional)
  • pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Marinate shrimp with lime juice and salt. Let sit for 15 minutes.

  2. In a small bowl, mix garlic, ginger, seafood soy sauce, cooking wine, and pepper. Stir well.

  3. Arrange shrimp on a heatproof plate. Pour the sauce mixture over the shrimp.

  4. Steam the shrimp for 8 minutes in a preheated steamer. Remove.

  5. Arrange green onions and chili slices on top of the shrimp.

  6. Heat sesame oil in a small pan. Drizzle over the shrimp.

  7. Serve with warm rice or porridge.

Tips

  1. Do not steam too long to avoid the shrimp becoming tough.
