Classic Brazilian Lemon Trifle Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can heavy cream
- 100 ml fresh lemon juice
- 300 g butter cookies
- 100 ml milk
- lemon zest
Preparation
Mix sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and fresh lemon juice in a bowl until creamy using a wire whisk. Reserve
Line a glass dish (24x10 cm) with plastic wrap
Spread a thin layer of lemon cream in the bottom of the dish
Lightly dip butter cookies in milk and arrange a layer over the cream
Add another layer of lemon cream and then a layer of milk-dipped butter cookies
Repeat the layering of cream and cookies until the dish is filled
Decorate the top with lemon zest from one of the lemons used for the juice
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or freeze for 40 minutes
Carefully remove the trifle from the dish by lifting the plastic wrap
Tips
Leave extra plastic wrap hanging over the edges of the dish to make unmolding easier
