Chicken Meatball in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 350 grams ground chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • Water, as needed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Oil for frying meatballs

Preparation

  1. Mix the ground chicken, 1 minced garlic clove, egg, tapioca flour, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. If the mixture is too runny, add a little more tapioca flour.

  2. Shape the mixture into balls, then fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain.

  3. In a pot, boil the 2 tomatoes until soft. Once done, remove and drain. Transfer to another container and crush with a fork.

  4. In a skillet, add olive oil then add the minced garlic.

  5. Add the crushed tomatoes. Stir well.

  6. Add tomato sauce, sweet soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well. Adjust seasoning.

  7. Add a little water to thin the sauce if it's too thick.

  8. Cook until the sauce boils.

  9. Add the chicken meatballs to the sauce. Stir well and serve.

Tips

  1. The chicken meatballs can be enjoyed on their own without the tomato sauce if desired.

  2. You can add pasta when serving with the tomato sauce, similar to spaghetti bolognese.
