Orange Flavored Semolina Halva
Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 orange zest (optional)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
Preparation
First, dissolve the boiling water and powdered sugar in a bowl and set aside.
Melt the butter in a pan.
Add the semolina and roast it until fragrant and the color changes, stirring constantly on medium heat for at least 10 minutes.
After the semolina is roasted, add the orange zest and stir for 1-2 turns.
Add the orange juice and stir again.
Pour in the prepared syrup and stir quickly.
Once the semolina absorbs the syrup and thickens, turn off the heat.
Cover with a towel and let rest for 10-15 minutes.
Then, shape the halva with desired molds and serve.
