Turkish Saray Muhallebi Pudding

Ingredients

  • 100 grams butter or margarine
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 packet Turkish vanilla sugar or a pinch of Iranian vanilla

Preparation

  1. Melt the butter in a pot.

  2. Add the flour and cook until the flour smell dissipates.

  3. Add the milk and whisk well.

  4. Add the sugar and egg yolk, and cook until thickened, stirring continuously.

  5. Add the vanilla and continue stirring.

  6. Pour the mixture into bowls and let it rest for an hour.

  7. Serve the dessert.

Tips

  1. If the mixture becomes lumpy, blend it until smooth.

  2. Optionally, invert the bowls and garnish with pistachios before serving.
