Turkish Kazandibi Caramelized Pudding

Ingredients

  • 6 cups milk
  • 85 grams flour
  • 30 grams starch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 packet vanilla

For the pan

  • Butter for greasing
  • 1/4 cup sugar for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, combine milk, sugar, flour, starch, and vanilla.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.

  3. Grease a baking tray with butter and sprinkle with sugar.

  4. Pour the thickened mixture into the prepared tray.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) until the bottom is caramelized and golden brown.

  6. Allow to cool, then cut into pieces and serve.
