Brazilian Cornbread with Guava Paste
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 whole egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 egg yolk, for brushing
- guava paste, cut into small cubes
Preparation
Mix the dry ingredients with the butter and egg until a crumbly mixture forms
Add the milk to get the right consistency
Shape the cornbreads
Brush with the egg yolk
Place the guava cubes on top
Bake in a greased and floured pan in a preheated oven for 30 minutes
