Homemade Turkish-Style Pizza
Ingredients
Dough
- 5 cups flour (adjust as needed; dough should not be too stiff or sticky)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2.5 cups milk
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- Oregano (to taste)
- Half a cup water (for thinning; sauce should be creamy, not watery)
Toppings
- Kasar cheese
- Green bell pepper
- Red bell pepper
- Mushrooms
- Tomatoes
- Olives
- Corn
- Any other desired ingredients
Preparation
Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for a bit
Combine all dough ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead quickly, adding flour gradually until the dough is soft and slightly sticky
Allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size
After rising, take a piece of dough slightly larger than a soup bowl size
Flour the counter and the dough, then roll it out slightly with a rolling pin
Grease a square baking pan and place the dough in the center, spreading it evenly with your hands until it covers the pan completely
Poke holes in the dough with a fork to prevent excessive rising
For the sauce, mix tomato paste, ketchup, olive oil, oregano, and water to achieve a creamy consistency
Add all toppings to the dough, then drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and oregano
Place in the oven and bake, adding grated cheese when almost done and continue baking until fully cooked
Tips
The flour amount may vary; ensure the dough is not too stiff or sticky for best results
Sauce should have a creamy texture, not watery, for optimal flavor
