Crispy Soda Börek
Ingredients
- 4 sheets of phyllo dough (adjust to tray size)
Spreading mixture
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Filling
- Any desired filling
Topping
- 1 bottle of soda
- 1 egg yolk
- Nigella seeds
Preparation
Open the phyllo sheet on the counter.
Mix the spreading mixture ingredients and brush evenly over the phyllo using a brush.
Fold the edges to form an envelope shape.
Spread the filling along the long side and roll tightly into a log.
Cut into equal pieces and place on a tray.
Repeat with all phyllo sheets.
Pour soda over the prepared böreks and let rest in the refrigerator for 40 minutes or prepare the night before if time allows.
To bake, line a separate tray with parchment paper and place the böreks on it.
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with nigella seeds.
Bake in a preheated 190°C oven until golden brown.
Tips
After baking, freeze the böreks and reheat when needed.
