Turkish Soda-Infused Tray Börek
Ingredients
- 5 sheets phyllo dough
Sauce
- 1 bottle sparkling water
- 3 eggs
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 teacup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
Filling
- 250g white cheese
- parsley
Preparation
Mix the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk them together.
Place the cheese in a bowl, chop the parsley finely, and mix them.
Lightly grease the baking tray.
Lay one phyllo sheet in the tray, leaving the edges hanging over.
Take a ladle of sauce and moisten the phyllo evenly.
Place the second phyllo sheet in the tray by crumpling it and moisten it with sauce.
Place the third phyllo sheet similarly, then spread the filling evenly without moistening with sauce.
Place the fourth phyllo sheet by crumpling it and moisten it with sauce.
Place the last phyllo sheet, then fold over the hanging edges.
Pour the remaining sauce over the top and spread it evenly.
Let it rest for about an hour.
Bake in a preheated 200°C oven until golden brown.
After baking, cover with a clean cloth and let it rest.
Tips
If short on time, you can bake immediately without resting.
