Turkish Imitation Boyoz Borek
Ingredients
- 6 sheets phyllo dough
Wetting mixture
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Filling
- Cheese
Topping
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 bottle soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
Preparation
Mix the wetting sauce by combining 1 cup vegetable oil and 1 cup water.
Lay the phyllo sheet on the work surface.
Pour 7 tablespoons of the wetting sauce onto half of the phyllo and brush it evenly over the entire surface.
Fold the phyllo over to form a D shape.
Cut the folded phyllo into 4 pieces.
Place the cheese filling on the long part of each piece.
Roll each piece into a roll and shape it like a rose.
Arrange the shaped boreks on a tray.
For the topping sauce, mix 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1 cup water, 1 bottle of soda, 1 teaspoon salt, and pour it over the boreks.
Cover with plastic wrap and let rest overnight.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper, invert the boreks, and arrange them on it.
Brush with egg yolk.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown.
