Homemade Crispy Chicken Nuggets
Ingredients
- 500g chicken breast, cubed
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup cold water
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- frying oil
Preparation
In a bowl, mix the chicken cubes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, tomato sauce, and mustard, then let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine 1/3 cup flour with cold water to form a smooth batter.
In another bowl, mix 1 cup flour and 1 cup cornstarch for coating.
Heat frying oil in a deep pan or fryer to around 180°C.
Dip each marinated chicken piece into the batter, then coat it in the flour-cornstarch mixture.
Fry the coated chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Remove the nuggets from the oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
