Homemade Crispy Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, cubed
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • frying oil

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the chicken cubes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, tomato sauce, and mustard, then let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine 1/3 cup flour with cold water to form a smooth batter.

  3. In another bowl, mix 1 cup flour and 1 cup cornstarch for coating.

  4. Heat frying oil in a deep pan or fryer to around 180°C.

  5. Dip each marinated chicken piece into the batter, then coat it in the flour-cornstarch mixture.

  6. Fry the coated chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes.

  7. Remove the nuggets from the oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
