Homemade Salmon Fishcakes for Babies
Ingredients
- 3-4 fillets of salmon (or any fish)
- 2 large potatoes, mashed
- Zest of 1 lemon, finely grated
- 1 Tbsp parsley, chopped
- 2 Tbsp flour or oats (I used Ready Brek)
- Breadcrumbs
Preparation
Peel and chip the potatoes, then boil until soft.
Grill the salmon at 180C for 5-6 minutes.
Flake the fish into a bowl, add the mashed potato, lemon zest, parsley and flour/oats. Mix together.
Shape into fish cakes or fish fingers.
Roll in the breadcrumbs and shallow fry until golden brown.
You can also mash the ingredients and offer from a spoon for easier feeding.
Introduce fish from 6 months, avoiding same day as other allergens like dairy or eggs.
Offer fish twice a week, including oily fish for nutrition.
