Indonesian Tofu Meatballs
Ingredients
- 250g fresh lean beef
- 250g chicken fillet
- Tofu (chocolate or fried, as needed, split in the middle)
- 2 egg whites
- 7 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon fried garlic
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon fried shallots
- 1 stalk green onion, finely sliced
- 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder (optional)
- 1 glass ice cubes
Preparation
Grind the beef and chicken together with ice cubes using a grinder
Mix all the spices into the meat and process in a food processor until smooth
Add the sliced green onion and stir until evenly combined
Stuff the tofu with the filling mixture until full
Steam the stuffed tofu meatballs for 15-20 minutes or until cooked, then remove
The tofu meatballs are ready to serve, and can be prepared with meatball soup or fried
Tips
This dish can be frozen for later use as stock food
