Oven-Baked Honey and Sriracha Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • oil as needed

Sauce

  • 1 cup Sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey (set or runny)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (preferably dark but light also works)

Garnish

  • sesame seeds
  • spring onions

Preparation

  1. In a wide bowl mix together flour, cornflour, black pepper, garlic powder, chilli powder and salt.

  2. Coat chicken wings in the flour mixture and bake on a raised wire rack at gas mark 6 (200°C) for 50 minutes or until cooked, rotating halfway. To air fry, cook at 180°C for 20 to 25 minutes.

  3. To prepare the sauce, gently heat the Sriracha, honey and brown sugar on the stove till smooth.

  4. Once the wings are cooked pour the sauce over them, placing the wings in a bowl helps toss them in the sauce better. Garnish with spring onions or sesame seeds (optional) and serve immediately.
