Perfect Party Pizza Puff Pastry Snails
Ingredients
- 2 packages chilled puff pastry
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 200 g sour cream
- a pinch of salt and pepper
- 75 g diced ham
- 100 g grated cheese
- fresh basil leaves
Preparation
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius (convection: 180 degrees). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry sheets side by side on the work surface.
Mix sour cream with tomato paste, salt, pepper, and basil. Spread the cream mixture on the puff pastry with a tablespoon and smooth it out. Distribute the diced ham and half of the grated cheese over the cream.
Cut thin strips across the short side using a pizza cutter or a knife.
Roll up the strips to form small snails. Place the snails on a baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve garnished with basil leaves.
Tips
Substitute pesto for the tomato paste in the cream mixture for a different flavor.
