Anti-Inflammatory Chai Spiced Turmeric Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

  • 250ml (or less for nice cream) coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp chai spice mix (see my blog for recipe - it's caffeine-free!)
  • 1–2 tsp turmeric
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp macadamia butter
  • 1 -2 large frozen bananas (optional, use more for thicker nice-cream)
  • > 2–3 frozen coconut milk cubes or ice cubs (optional, gives thickness)

Preparation

  1. Heat milk on stove top (let milk come to quick boil then reduce & simmer for 2-3 minutes), then place chai spice, turmeric, & cinnamon in & steep for 3-4 minutes (off heat)

  2. Whisk together & pour milk mix into blender along with chia seeds, maple syrup, macadamia butter, frozen banana(s), & ice cubes (if using)

  3. Blend together & pour into large jar or bowl, then top with more cinnamon, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, or other toppings of your choice
