Baked Sticky Sesame Cauliflower

Ingredients

For baked cauliflower

  • 1 small head cauliflower
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons smoked salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For sauce

  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons soya sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 tablespoon tahini
  • 2 teaspoons sugar free chilly sauce or Sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon arrowroot

Other

  • 3 spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Black sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 200C. Coat cauliflower with sesame oil, salt and garlic powder and roast in the oven for 15 minutes.

  2. Start the sauce at 10 minutes into the oven roasting time. Mix all the ingredients listed under sauce in a bowl.

  3. Heat sesame oil in a wok and add ginger and spring onions. Fry for a few seconds and add the sauce to the oil. Keep stirring as it will quickly begin to thicken.

  4. Remove the cauliflower florets from the oven and add them to the sauce. Mix to coat well.

  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions.
