Caramel Cinnamon Oats
Ingredients
- caramel cinnamon oats
- • 1/2 cup rolled oats (soak in water overnight and strain in morning to reduce cooking time and make oats easier to digest)
- • about 1 cup of water
- • unsweetened almond milk (keep adding until you’ve reached your desired consistency)
- • 2 chopped dates
- • LOTS of cinnamon
- • 1 tbsp chia seeds
- • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
- caramelized apples + bananas and walnuts
- • 1 tbsp coconut oil
- • 1/2 an apple diced • 1 banana
- • more cinnamon
- • handful of chopped walnuts
Preparation
Caramel cinnamon oats
Bring the oats and water to a boil, then turn down to medium heat and add in the dates, cinnamon, chia seeds, and almond milk
Let the oats simmer, stirring here and there for a few minutes until fluffy
Caramelized apples + bananas and walnuts
Heat up a pan to medium-low heat, grease it with coconut oil, add the apples and bananas and cinnamon, cover and let them cook for 3-4 minutes
Then flip them over and cover again for another few minutes until they’re soft all the way through
Add on the walnuts and some more cinnamon for the last couple minutes
Top the oats with the fried apples bananas and walnuts, or swirl them into the oats, or however you like it
