Banana, Date and Spinach Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 3 heaped tbsp ice cream
  • 3 tbsp Greek yoghurt
  • 500ml milk
  • a handful of baby spinach leaves
  • 5-6 dates deseeded

Preparation

  1. If dates are hard, soak them in hot water for about 20 minutes before using.

  2. Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.

  3. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Tips

  1. The smoothie makes enough for 2 tall glasses; increase quantities if more is needed.

  2. Spinach is not noticeably tasted in the smoothie.

  3. For extra sweetness, add about 1 tablespoon of honey, syrup, or sugar if desired.

  4. Adding mint can enhance flavor, but it may not be suitable for fussy eaters.
