Steel Cut Overnight Oats
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
- 1 cup steel cut oats
Preparation
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients except the steel cut oats. Mix well and bring to a boil.
Add the steel cut oats to the boiling mixture. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Remove the saucepan from the stove and cover with a lid. Allow the mixture to cool before placing it in the fridge. Alternatively, you can portion the mixture into jars or containers to cool faster before refrigerating for at least 8 hours.
When you wake up, your oats will have thickened and be ready to enjoy.
Keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
