Homemade Healthy Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry roasted hazelnuts (skin REMOVED)
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 2/3 cup cacao powder
  • 7 soaked dates
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Roast or bake hazelnuts on 350F for about 10min or until skin starts to pop off a bit

  2. After roasting add hazelnuts to a kitchen towel and apply pressure as you move them around, skin will start to fall off

  3. Add hazelnuts to a high powered blender or food processor. Hazelnuts will turn into a powder, keep blending and scraping sides until smooth and creamy

  4. Add in remaining ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy, add more almond milk if needed
