Elderberry Syrup for Immune Health
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried elderberries
- 4 cups water
- 1.5-2 cups honey or maple syrup for a vegan version
- 2 inches ginger
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- A handful of star anise
Preparation
Combine all ingredients except honey
Bring to boil, then simmer and stir frequently about 45 minutes, reducing the liquid by half
Strain, and pour back into the pot
Stir in honey
Let cool, then pour into a jar and label and seal
