Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 bramley apple, diced
  • 50g sweetener / sugar (use more of you like it sweeter)
  • 25g vegan block (dairy free butter)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • topping:
  • 1 tbsp sweetener / sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190C. Meanwhile warm butter in a pan on a medium heat. Pour in the sugar or sweetener and stir until a thick syrup forms

  2. Add in the chop apples and cook for a further minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool

  3. Roll out your pastry sheet and slice into four large rectangles. Add 2 tbsp filling in the centre of each piece and fold over pastry to form a pie

  4. Press edges with a fork, lightly spread with melted butter and sprinkle over topping

  5. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until golden. Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy
