Miniature Apple Pies with British Bramley Apples
Ingredients
- sheet of puff pastry
- 1 bramley apple, diced
- 50g sweetener or sugar
- 25g vegan block
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Topping
- 1 tbsp sweetener or sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Preparation
Preheat oven to 190C. Meanwhile warm butter in a pan on a medium heat. Pour in the sugar or sweetener and stir until a thick syrup forms.
Add in the chopped apples and cook for a further minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Roll out your pastry sheet and slice into four large rectangles. Add 2 tbsp filling in the centre of each piece and fold over pastry to form a pie.
Press edges with a fork, lightly spread with melted butter and sprinkle over topping.
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until golden. Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy (I paired mine with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce!)
