Herbed Vegan Biscuits with Maple Garnish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 tablespoons fresh sage
  • 4 tablespoons vegan butter

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Add oat milk and lemon juice and whisk; let sit for five minutes to create a buttermilk substitute.

  3. Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl.

  4. Work the milk mixture into the dry ingredients without overmixing.

  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead a few times.

  6. Use a biscuit cutter to form circles.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden color is desired.
