Innovative Healthy Vegan Twix Candy Bar
Ingredients
Base
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 flax or chia egg (1 tbsp flax seeds mixed with 2-3 tbsp water)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Filling
- 2 cups medjool dates, pits removed
- 1/3 cup nut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate coating
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Preparation
Mix all base ingredients together until a dough forms.
Line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper and press down the dough.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
For the filling, blend filling ingredients until smooth.
Spread the filling over the baked crust and freeze for at least 5 hours.
Remove from freezer, slice, and coat in melted dark chocolate using the chocolate coating mixture.
Return to freezer for 10 minutes to set, then keep stored in freezer.
