Iron-Rich Arepa with Mortadela Filling
Ingredients
- 150g Mortadela
- 1 Onion
- 1 Sweet Pepper
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1 cup Cornmeal
- 1.25 cups Water
- Salt to taste
- Optional filling
Preparation
Mix cornmeal, water, and salt to form a dough
Shape the dough into patties
Cook the patties on a griddle or pan until golden brown on both sides
In a separate pan, sauté onion, garlic, and sweet pepper until softened
Add mortadela to the vegetable mixture and heat through
Stuff the cooked arepas with the mortadela filling and serve
