Air Fryer Apple Fritters
Ingredients
- 2 medium apples, cored and finely chopped
- 1 cup AP flour (Or GF blend)
- 2 Tbl sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or more cinnamon)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tbl melted butter
- 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
Glaze
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Core and cut apples then set aside.
In a small mixing bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.
In a measuring cup mix together the milk, melted butter, and apple sauce.
Using a mixing spoon, make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into the well and fold the dry into the wet a couple of times. Add in the chopped apple and fold until no dry ingredients are seen.
Place a piece of parchment paper on the wire rack or basket of your airfryer. Scoop out 1/4 cup of batter, leaving roughly an inch between each. Place prepared fritters into the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes before cooking.
Preheat airfryer to 370 F. Place prepared rack or basket into airfryer and cook for 7-9 minutes. Only do one rack or batch at a time. The fritters should be golden brown. Cook another minute or two if necessary.
While fritters are cooking, mix together the glaze. Plate the warm fritters and pour on 1 to 2 tablespoons of glaze. Enjoy immediately.
