Caramelized Apple Topping for Breakfast
Ingredients
- 2 medium apples, diced small
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp corn starch
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Mix the water, corn starch, vanilla, and almond extract. Set aside.
Heat sauce pot over medium high heat.
Cook apples for 3 min while stirring occasionally.
Add in maple syrup.
Cook for 2 min or until bubbling a lot.
Stir the corn starch mix and pour into the pot.
Stir it all together, add cinnamon, and heat for 2-3 min or until thickened.
Thin with more water if desired.
Tips
Pour over pancakes, waffles, crepes, or oatmeal to enjoy.
