Crispy Rava Dosa with Spices
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- salt to taste
- finely chopped onions (optional)
- 2 finely chopped green chilies (adjust to taste)
- finely chopped coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- few fresh curry leaves (optional)
- 4-5 cups water
- oil
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, take 1/2 cup semolina
Add 1/2 cup rice flour
Add 1/4 cup plain flour
Mix well
Add salt to taste
Add finely chopped onions
Add finely chopped green chilies
Add finely chopped coriander leaves
Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Add a few curry leaves
Mix well
Add 4 to 5 cups water in parts, starting with 1 cup and mixing well to remove lumps, then add more water
Let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes as semolina absorbs water and thickens
Add another 1-2 cups water to achieve a very runny consistency
Heat a pan until hot
Pour the batter onto the pan and add a few drops of oil around the edges
Cook until crispy
Serve with coconut chutney and tomato chutney
Tips
This recipe requires no advance preparation
It uses minimal vessels for easy cleanup
