Baked Spaghetti with Meat and Cheese
Ingredients
- 500 grams spaghetti
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
- 1/2 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 500 grams ground meat
- 1 large chopped onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 4 large peeled and finely chopped tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon meat spices
- 1/4 cup liquid cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
Stir in chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt, black pepper, and meat spices, then simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
In a separate bowl, mix eggs, chopped parsley, chopped basil, cream cheese, cottage cheese, and liquid cream.
Drain the cooked spaghetti and combine it with the cheese mixture.
In a baking dish, layer the spaghetti mixture with the meat sauce or mix them together.
Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
