Baked Spaghetti with Meat and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 500 grams spaghetti
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped basil
  • 1/2 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 4 large peeled and finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon meat spices
  • 1/4 cup liquid cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.

  4. Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

  5. Stir in chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt, black pepper, and meat spices, then simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  6. In a separate bowl, mix eggs, chopped parsley, chopped basil, cream cheese, cottage cheese, and liquid cream.

  7. Drain the cooked spaghetti and combine it with the cheese mixture.

  8. In a baking dish, layer the spaghetti mixture with the meat sauce or mix them together.

  9. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.

  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
