Crispy Pan Seared Salmon

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon filets
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 4 sprigs of thyme

Preparation

  1. Let the salmon come to room temperature.

  2. Pat the salmon dry, especially the skin, then score the salmon skin.

  3. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika, rubbing into the slits.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add the oil after the pan is hot.

  5. Add the salmon skin side down and press down with a spatula.

  6. Cook for 2 minutes, flip, and cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. Flip again, reduce the heat to low, and add butter, garlic, and thyme.

  8. Baste for 4 minutes.

  9. Finish with lemon zest, lemon juice, and parsley.
