Kofta Meatballs with Tahini Sauce

Ingredients

Kofta

  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 300 grams ground meat
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Tahini sauce

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 cups milk or yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  1. Wash the rice and soak it for 5 minutes.

  2. In a bowl, combine the rice, ground meat, onion, mixed spices, salt, black pepper, parsley, and olive oil. Mix well to form a homogeneous mixture and shape into kofta balls.

  3. In a wide skillet, heat oil and fry the kofta balls.

  4. Prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini, yogurt or milk, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and water in a bowl.

  5. Pour the tahini sauce over the fried kofta balls, let it simmer, then serve.

Notes

  1. The dish can also be baked in the oven.
